WIP Captain Panaka by MMCB on Sun Feb 11, 2007 8:24 pm
It's about time I came out with a new design and minifig.
Well here it is, its not much but it is new ;)
Captain Panaka
As seen in Ep1 Captain Panaka is sporting a new style waistcape ALSO in a new colour (Sand Blue). This fg is still a work in progress, I need to add decals and possibly refine the waistcape a bit.
As with everything, comment and criticisms welcome.
Cheers,
MMCB

I really like this design and have been wanting to re-work this figure. Great work, when will this waist cape be available, I can think of a lot of figures this would work for.

Just an idea... Wondering if the the Lando Skiff helmet could utilised to make a more authentic Panaka headgear?
Image
Maybe cutting off the front grill & painting would be enough? Otherwise maybe cut the 'skirt" from the helmet and glue it to the standard cap?
Maybe not accurate enough for Panaka's huge hat, but the Skiff lando helmet could be pefect to modify to make a Naboo Pilot helmet

Sort of, yeah. Though that's Typho, not Panaka as labelled. Slightly different hats, but good to see someone else has though of adapting the Lando helmet to that general purpose.

You are correct, got these two mixed around, but yes same general idea on the hat alterations. Was hoping Lego was going to do something like this when they released the Naboo Pilot in the upcoming set, but it didn't look like it from the toy fair coverage.
