Post British SAS Trooper with Custom Modern Military Helmet

Greetings from Turkey, my Friends!

While everywhere was covered in snow, there was not too much to do for people who are used to the sun and the sea, so after participating in my share of the winter sports, I decided to do some customizing. I hope that you will excuse me for the lack of a UAS update and the closure of the store, I had some things I had to take care of lately, and I will be resuming my work on the site and the store ASAP. Wait for some exciting news regarding the store and the shipment prices.

But, enough of my off-topic intro, Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you my latest custom, the British Special Air Service Trooper:

The picture is the link to its original size.

A Little About the Custom:

Being an old Counter-Strike player ? I have been playing it ever since the CS 1.3 version ? I have always been tempted to make Lego versions of the teams there. In the beginning, I lacked the skill needed to create a minifig of adequate quality and detail, and then, when I became a more experienced customizer, one of the most important aspects of the game was still missing in the Lego world ? realistic modern weaponry. So, it was not until the BrickArms and the LittleArmory weapons arrived it was possible to make a worthy custom.

When I got my sample pack of the new BA weapons, I knew that this was the time. So, I chose to make my all-time favorite Counter-Terrorist team ? the British SAS. I had to somehow make the classical military beret design used by the SAS, and, lacking Amanda?s or Alan?s sculpting skills, I would have to make it in a different way. ;) I wanted to try something new, other than my usual fabric accessories, so I went for paper.

The holster was another challenge of this project. Intrigued by the new BA PPK (which, in this case, serves as the compact SAS pistol, the Swiss-produce SIG P230), I decided to make a holster that would be both functional and realistic. I took a pencil, a piece of paper, and soon I came up with a rather simple template. You can see the result below.

All the decals, templates and stickers were designed in Adobe Illustrator. Huge thanks to Will (BrickArms) for the new weapons, Jeff (Blasterman) for the Colt Rifle and Ben (Daredevil - BlindBricks) for support and criticism.

Weapons featured in the gallery (in order of appearance): BA PPK, LA M4 Assault Rifle, BA M67 Grenade, BA M47 Shotgun, BA PSG Sniper Rifle, LA SAW Machine Gun.

One has to make the propoganda posters  :

Thanks a lot for magnificent casts of the hairpieces, Arealight and Emily, as well as Ben for that old Nike fitness jacket decal, seen in the background. :)

Now here comes the exclusive part, posted on KFCF for the first time ever:

Today, I was planning to to script a few pages for the UAS, watch my copy of Pianist and make a Counter-Strike match with my shool buddies - a really peaceful and productive day. My table was a mess, so I decided to clean it up. Halfway through, I reached a pile of my latest customizational purchases (I got some new items from BrickForge and BrickArms, as well as some bulk minifigs). Apparently, I had more WW2 helmets than I would ever need, so I thought 'Hey, it's not too different from a modern military helmet! Just some sanding here and there and it will be perfect!' So, just for the fun of it, I took out my files, some sandpaper and picked a BrickForge helmet - then I didn't get up from my desk for quite some time, but in the end, it was worth it:

More in the gallery when public.

Your turn to talk, guys! Comments, criticism, questions and suggestions welcomed.

P.S.: Please let me know if there are too many images in the post - I'll convert some to links.

Great work and photos as always. Your hat is great, but you should look at the Oxford version just for some ideas, or maybe you did already. Great work and glad to see it here.
